The U.S. must address the “massive epidemic of vaccine injury,” according to scientists, doctors, lawyers, and medical freedom activists who spoke at a March 9 roundtable event sponsored by the MAHA Institute in Washington, D.C.
The event, on the “Massive Epidmic of Vaccine Injury (MEVI)” Round Table showcased more than a dozen speakers and panelists on a wide range of topics, including the scale of current vaccine injuries, the link between vaccines and autism, the effects of blanket liability protection on the number of routinely recommended shots, and the negative health impacts of the COVID-19 vaccines.
According to its website, the MAHA Institute focuses on “reforming the political, regulatory, and legislative environment to end corporate capture of government and restore its focus on the health of the American people.”
Speakers at the roundtable said existing data already raise serious questions about the long-term health effects of vaccination programs. One analysis presented during the event involved more than 18,000 children enrolled in an insurance program affiliated with Henry Ford Health System in Michigan. According to presenters, the findings showed significantly higher rates of several chronic conditions among vaccinated children compared with unvaccinated children.
The analysis found that vaccinated children had 4.29 times the rate of asthma, 3.03 times the rate of atopic disease (a group of allergic conditions), 5.96 times the rate of autoimmune disease, and 5.53 times the rate of neurodevelopmental disorders.
According to speakers, the results remained statistically significant even after researchers adjusted for factors including gender, race, birthweight, premature birth, and complications during delivery.
Attorney Aaron Siri referenced the study during testimony before the U.S. Senate in September 2025, stating that the researchers involved encountered difficulty publishing the results because the findings conflicted with prevailing public health assumptions about vaccine safety.
Participants at the roundtable said additional independent analyses by states and hospital systems could help further examine possible links between vaccination and chronic disease. Speakers criticized major media outlets for what they described as limited reporting on vaccine injuries, arguing that the issue has received little public attention despite increasing numbers of families reporting adverse health outcomes following vaccination.
The discussion also examined the political and legal fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. Several speakers said the pandemic response accelerated public skepticism toward government health authorities and sparked broader debate about vaccine policy and medical freedom.
Participants encouraged audience members to support the “COVID Justice Resolution,” a petition calling on the U.S. Senate to formally recognize lessons from the pandemic and establish guiding principles for future public health emergencies. The resolution urges lawmakers to repudiate certain emergency measures adopted during COVID-19 that critics argue conflicted with constitutional liberties.
Speakers described the current moment as a turning point in the national conversation about vaccines, with more Americans questioning long-held assumptions about vaccine safety and demanding greater transparency from public health agencies.
The roundtable took place amid renewed scrutiny of federal vaccine policy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine advisory committee is expected to discuss issues related to COVID-19 vaccine injuries at an upcoming meeting. Some speakers argued that the current childhood vaccine schedule should be reevaluated and that vaccines should remain on the market only after undergoing more rigorous safety testing. Others focused on informed consent and the right of individuals to make their own medical decisions without government mandates.
Del Bigtree, who served as communications director during Kennedy’s presidential campaign, said Kennedy does not intend to eliminate vaccines but has emphasized transparency and individual choice.
He told attendees that while some critics advocate eliminating vaccines altogether, the more immediate goal should be to ensure that parents and individuals can evaluate the evidence and make their own decisions about vaccination.
