Instagram and Facebook suspended Children’s Health Defense (CHD) on Thursday over claims the organization, led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., repeatedly violated rules prohibiting misinformation about COVID-19.
Facebook has been working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Biden Administration and numerous government agencies to censor opposing viewpoints on COVID-19 despite the fact the CDC now admits its approach to the virus was wrong.
CHD, a nonprofit group, is an influential organization that has continued to share the latest research on COVID-19, among other topics, despite the government and Big Tech’s effort to manipulate its user with misinformation on COVID, vaccines, face masks and public health measures that are unsupported by science and detrimental to Americans.
In a statement, Kennedy compared Facebook’s actions to government censorship.
“Facebook is acting here as a surrogate for the federal government’s crusade to silence all criticism of draconian government policies,” Kennedy said.
Although Facebook is a private company, it has been repeatedly accused of colluding with government agencies (arguably, making it a state actor) to suppress speech, target political groups and censor viewpoints that do not align with the false narrative government agencies and the World Health Organization, have perpetuated about COVID-19 and vaccines.
In fact, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry on July 20 served third-party subpoenas on Twitter, Meta, Youtube, Instagram and LinkedIn as part of a landmark lawsuit against top-ranking Biden Administration officials for allegedly colluding with social media giants to suppress free speech on topics like COVID-19 and election security.
Schmitt and Landry filed discovery requests seeking documents and information from Dr. Anthony Fauci and the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and former Disinformation Governance Board executive director Nina Jankowicz.
Discovery requests were also sent to the CDC, Jen Easterly and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requesting information about numerous individuals, including Kennedy.
America First Legal on July 27 released documents obtained from the CDC via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request showing collusion between the agency and social media companies to censor free speech on COVID vaccines and promote the Biden Administration’s agenda.
The FOIA documents reveal Facebook gave $15 Million dollars worth of Facebook ad credits as a “non-monetary gift” to HHS and the CDC to manipulate users with propaganda on vaccines, social distancing, travel and “priority communication messages.”
The CDC “flagged posts” for Facebook so the social media giant could flag them as “disinformation.”
Facebook and the CDC also set up a “COVID-19 Misinformation Reporting Channel” for CDC and Census to make reports to Facebook and held a “training meeting” for the “Misinformation Reporting Channel.”
CHD had hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and Facebook when it was suspended, it said in a statement, and is currently involved in a lawsuit against Facebook over its moderation policies.
Facebook and Instagram confirmed the suspension Thursday in a statement to The Associated Press.
“We removed these accounts for repeatedly violating our policies,” a spokesman for Meta, Facebook and Instagram’s parent company, told the AP. Under the platforms’ policies, suspensions are typically enforced only after multiple violations.
Meta did not disclose which posts CHD published that violated their policies, or who defines what constitutes “misinformation.” If a definition does exist, it was likely constructed with the help of government regulatory agencies that have a vested interest in the billion-dollar pharmaceutical industry pushing experimental vaccines on Americans.
As pointed out by CHD on their website, within hours of the CHD being de-platformed, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky outlined plans for overhauling how the agency works and admitted the agency’s response to COVID-19 was flawed. The CDC committed a number of missteps in its management of the pandemic.
CHD has not said whether they will file a lawsuit against Meta over the de-platforming, but one can assume an organization as powerful as Kennedy’s will not allow this assault on free speech to go unchallenged.
