President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Israel and Iran had entered into a historic ceasefire agreement to be phased in over the next 24 hours, bringing an end to what he has now declared the 12-Day War.
The agreement, brokered under Trump’s leadership, marks a dramatic de-escalation in a conflict that began when Israel launched targeted strikes against Iranian nuclear infrastructure in response to mounting security threats and provocative posturing by the Iranian regime. As tensions escalated, the United States took swift action to support regional stability and deter further aggression.
“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!” Trump shared in a post on Truth Social.
“Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World,” Trump added.

Trump called the swift and decisive end a major victory not only for the nations involved but for the entire Middle East and the cause of global peace.
“This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!” Trump said.
Under Trump’s direction, U.S. forces executed precision strikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The targets, believed to be central to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, were successfully destroyed. All U.S. aircraft safely returned, and no American lives were lost. Trump praised the courage and professionalism of American forces and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace through strength.
Iran responded by launching 14 ballistic missiles. U.S. and allied defense systems intercepted thirteen, while the fourteenth missile veered off course and posed no threat. Trump called Iran’s response weak and ineffective, and credited early intelligence for allowing American personnel to take protective measures in advance, preventing any casualties or damage.
Trump later issued a formal statement confirming that the United States had effectively countered the Iranian retaliation and thanked Iran for providing advance notice, which enabled a safe and coordinated defensive posture. He expressed hope that with this response behind them, both nations could turn the page and pursue regional stability.
The ceasefire agreement lays out a two-phase plan. Iran will initiate the ceasefire first, followed by Israel 12 hours later. Upon the completion of both phases, the war will be officially considered over and recognized by the international community.
Trump called the resolution a major victory for the nations involved, for the broader Middle East, and the cause of global peace. He commended both sides for showing what he described as courage, stamina, and intelligence in bringing the conflict to a close. He pledged to encourage Israel to honor the ceasefire and expressed optimism that this would usher in a new era of peace and stability in the region.
While legacy media outlets attempted to downplay the operation’s success, Trump stood firm. He credited his administration’s clarity of mission, strength of action, and refusal to tolerate weakness as the reasons this war did not spiral into another endless U.S. military entanglement.
As global reactions continue to emerge, one thing is clear: Trump has once again reshaped the international landscape, bringing an abrupt and effective end to a potentially catastrophic war.
